As a keen skier and mountain biker, I was happy to be able to show Cherry and Daisy around Queenstown, which is the adventure sports capital of New Zealand and one of my favourite places.
Queenstown was a real buzz for Daisy because she’d never seen snow before. The girls later got to experience an even bigger buzz - bungy jumping!
Watch to learn how the mountains can be a classroom as Cherry and Daisy explore beautiful Queenstown.
The girls also visited Queenstown Resort College. We met students from the college on work placements just about everywhere we went in Queenstown, from the bungy jumping company to award-winning Malaysian restaurant Madame Woo (where I recommend the fantastic tiger prawn dumplings).
That mixture of practical and theoretical learning is a big part of the New Zealand style of learning, so it was great for Cherry and Daisy to be able to see it in action.
For me, a rewarding part of the trip was seeing the enjoyment Cherry and Daisy took in meeting a whole bunch of students from different cultures and outlooks. It was also great to see Daisy relaxing into the laid-back New Zealand lifestyle.
Daisy is now exploring her study options in New Zealand, so maybe I’ll see her back in Queenstown one day!
