St Paul’s welcomes international students either as boarders living on campus or as day students living in homestay accommodation. All students are provided with a safe and secure environment where they can concentrate on their learning and develop their individual talents.
St Paul’s is recognised for its outstanding academic achievements. Students are able to study both NCEA (National Certificate in Educational Achievement) and Cambridge subjects. Average class sizes of 20 allows students to receive regular one-on-one learning time with their teachers. This personalised and rigorous programme results in St Paul’s graduates enrolling in world-class universities.
Participation in a summer and winter sport is compulsory and the school has first-class sports facilities. Christianity plays an important role at St Paul’s and spiritual activities are based on the Anglican ethos; however, we do welcome students from all denominations.
Tihoi Venture School
In Year 10, all boys spend 18 weeks at the Tihoi Venture School, located close to Lake Taupo. In addition to a full academic programme, students are given the opportunity to experience a wide range of outdoor pursuits including kayaking, rock climbing, caving and hiking. The boys develop into young men who are independent, responsible and contributing members of society.
"Sending my boys to St Paul’s has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I was especially satisfied with the result of the time my boys spent at Tihoi. It is a unique, well-designed programme for boys to learn life skills outside the classroom and how to contribute positively to others." (Saranya Chungsuvanich, mother of Ben (Year 13) and Bobby (Year 11) from Thailand)
