Every parent wants the best for their children. We absolutely share that goal. That's why we walk alongside every student as we help them learn, discover and grow to be more than they ever imagined.  Our excellent academic record stands for itself, but Dio stands for so much more. We believe that education is an adventure involving creativity, imagination and discovery. It's not enough to know any more. It's our job to foster and develop the skills every young woman will need to navigate this changing world. That's the Dio Difference.

Diocesan School for Girls is a prestigious private school founded in 1903. Academically, we consistently rank in the top three schools in New Zealand.  Beyond the classroom, our International Students have so many opportunities in Sport, Performing Arts and our progressive Education Outside the Classroom programme. It's all about teaching new skills and helping our girls to develop self-confidence to aim for excellence in everything they do.

Our Director of International Students, Simone Clark understands that leaving family and friends on the other side of the world can be very daunting and an international student’s main concern is feeling welcomed and cared for. Therefore from a family’s first enquiry from overseas to their daughter’s very last day in New Zealand, Simone ensures that she is a part of School life for these girls. Simone really values the relationships she forms with the students and their families. When she is travelling overseas, she enjoys meeting with parents to discuss their daughter's progress.

About New Zealand

We are a safe, clean, stable, modern country with a rich cultural heritage and high standard of living. Living and studying in New Zealand can also offer excellent value for money, with favourable tuition fees and living expenses when compared with other English-speaking destinations.

Safety and care standards are paramount. New Zealand was the first country to adopt a strict code of practice for the care of international students, which sets standards in and out of the classroom.

New Zealand qualifications are internationally respected and recognised. The New Zealand private schools sector ranks amongst the best in the world according to the Programme for International Student Assesment (PISA).  In their latest report New Zealand achieved better results than the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom or Australia.
