Getting a head start in the job market

Human resources management student Dan Bai describes the education she has received in New Zealand as being based on understanding rather than memorising.

“This is a good place to study because we learn theory but we can also practice it, which gives us a deeper knowledge of what we’ve learned,” says Dan.

“In China we have lots of exams and there is only ever one correct answer. But here there are many possible answers - it all depends on your research.

We’re encouraged to think independently here. The education is more practical and prepares us for our future life.

Dan is confident her education will give her a head start in the job market. “My qualification is good and will really support me to get a job.”

Dan Bai, China, Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management
