Wellington High School is the only, co-educational, non-uniform school in central Wellington. There are 1000 students at Wellington High, of whom 60 are international students. Established in 1886, this innovative and vibrant school has a long history of welcoming international students starting with Colombo Plan students in the 1960s. Currently there are students from China, Japan, Germany, Fiji, Italy, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Chile, Brazil, the US, Belgium and Austria. Wellington High School offers a varied choice of subjects, high quality teaching, small classes, tailored programmes and excellent facilities. We are well known for our strengths in technology, art and design, music and IT. Our homestay parents are kind, inclusive and experienced.
