TIKIPUNGA HIGH SCHOOL is a coeducational, state, day school, catering for students from Year 7-year 13 with a roll of approximatively 500 students, of which 85 % are Maori. Founded in 1971, Tikipunga High School is located on the north-eastern boundary of the city of Whangarei. The school motto is "tukua o punga" which means "cast your nets". Our aim is for each student to reach their personal potential and be meaningful and productive members of society. The school values the uniqueness of each individual. Tikipunga High School has a roll small enough to ensure that the learning environment is personalised, class sizes are small and teachers know their students, yet large enough to offer a variety of opportunities and a relevant, interesting curriculum.
