Summary

The logistics and supply chain industry is massive and global

Logistics is an innovative industry with constantly emerging business processes changes, enterprise software, tracking-and-reporting technologies, and business models. This programme is designed for people who seek to gain advanced skills and knowledge in logistics and supply chain management to apply to their business environment, whether it be domestic or international business.

The industry has been significantly disrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic both at the global scale and at the local domestic scale. Companies need professionals that can effectively manage procurement, just-in-time delivery, and relationships with third-party suppliers, be able to control their own costs, score win-win solutions with partners, ensure business continuity, and ultimately develop a core competency that underpins competitive advantage and better prices and service for customers.

For these reasons, trained and skilled logistics and supply chain managers are in demand in New Zealand, in our major export markets (e.g., India, north Asia, SE Asia), and globally.

Aims of Programme

The aim of this programme is to produce work-ready graduates with the personal attributes, advanced specialised knowledge and practical skills necessary to make an immediate and innovative contribution to organisations engaged in, or wishing to engage in logistics and supply chain management whether locally, nationally or internationally.

Graduates will be able to successfully manage complex tasks and strategic challenges in the logistics and supply chain industry. During your studies students are provided opportunities for to further develop their abilities to critically evaluate data and qualitative information and to analyse industry trends, in order to assess supply chain vulnerabilities and risks, opportunities to reduce cost and improve performance, and to identify, implement, and manage tactics that are innovative and value-adding for their enterprise.
