New Zealand Qualification
The Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences (BBiomedSc) degree provides students with a sound foundation in the scientific principles underpinning biomedical research and thus our current understanding of health and disease. A defining feature of this degree is its interdisciplinary nature with students able to select papers from multiple contributing Departments. The BBiomedSc is a springboard for advanced study and a diverse range of careers including research, health services, and professional programmes.
Diploma in Biomedical Science
GPA of 2.75 (equivalent to an Otago grade average of a ‘B’) This is an indicative grade. Students who are marginally below the required overall average will be considered on a case by case basis.
Academic IELTS of 6.0 with no individual band below 5.5.
Credit will be awarded for seven papers in total for the equivalent of the first year of the BBiomedSc programme. However, students will be required to take the first year PHSI 191 Biological Physics paper during the second year of their BBiomedSc programme as the “one further 18 point paper” for that year
