Traditional computer science degrees focus on software engineering, programming and mathematics.

But Cloud Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Game Development and Web and App Development are some of the biggest industries worldwide today, which is why these are the focus of this Yoobee College degree.

It offers a transdisciplinary programme bringing computer science, programming, art and design, social science and business knowledge together with project work so our students have the knowledge and skills to make a difference in a real-world team.

This programme is heavily focused on project-based learning so you graduate with real-world skills. Over 50% of course time is dedicated to tutor-led programming, with an additional 15% orientated around group projects.

Entry criteria

Academic Entry Requirements

  • Completed the equivalent of University Entrance; NCEA Level 2 or equivalent can be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. OR
  • India: Completed Year 12, OR
  • China: Completed Senior 2, OR
  • Successful completion of Certificate of Creative Media

International applicants:

  • Onshore must be 18 years
  • Offshore / Online can admit if 17 but must be 18 at the time they commence Year 2 in NZ

English Entry Requirements

  • IELTS Test: Score of 6, with no band score lower than 5.5
  • TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT): Score of 60, or higher (with a writing score of 18)
  • Pearson:- PTE (Academic) score of 50 with no band score lower than 42
