Be part of the next productivity step-change in construction, architecture and civil engineering.

Our Graduate Certificate in Building Information Modelling is a perfect professional development opportunity for anyone with a degree (or degree-equivalent qualification) in construction, quantity surveying, construction management, architecture or civil engineering.

Building Information Modelling (BIM) provides a digital representation of the physical and functional characteristics of any kind of built facility. It acts as a shared knowledge resource, creating a reliable basis for decisions by all stakeholders involved in the building's lifecycle, from its design and conception right through to its utilisation and demolition. BIM is used by individuals, businesses and government agencies who plan, design, construct, operate and maintain diverse physical infrastructures.

We've developed this programme in response to industry demand for BIM-qualified team members within the construction management, quantity surveying, architecture and civil engineering professions. It will provide you with a broad understanding of Building Information Modelling and is delivered part-time, with courses available in the evening to accommodate employment commitments.

The graduate certificate is made up of four courses each exploring an aspect of BIM. The courses are: Systems and Technologies; Building Information Modelling; 3D Documentation and Collaboration; MEP Integration.

Career opportunities: Upon completion of this qualification, you'll have the knowledge and skills required to work as a BIM technician or co-ordinator.

Study pathways: On completion of this programme you can progress to a degree in architectural studies or construction, or our Graduate Diploma in Building Information Modelling. The latter will equip you to work as a BIM lead, BIM designer or BIM specialist/expert.
