The aim of this course is to develop learners’ English language skills at a pre-intermediate level, so they can communicate reasonably well, both orally and in writing and appropriately in real life situations. The course also prepares students to develop the ability to apply English language skills to new learning. On completion of this course learners should be able to explain their opinions reasonably well and can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure, etc. There is an expectation that at this level they begin to identify and understand implied meanings and work with a greater degree of independence. Upon completion of this course students will be ready to enroll on the Kiwidotcom English (Intermediate). Entry Requirements: Minimum of 14 years old; Students are required to hold a current visa and medical insurance; Students are required to sit an internal placement test or provide validated evidence of English proficiency prior to start of the course to establish their entrant level, or students who have successfully passed the Kiwidotcom English (Elementary). Intake: Every Monday. Credits: 30
