Summary

Business today is digital, digital means data, data means databases, and to access those databases you need Microsoft SQL Server.

Knowing SQL (Structured Query Language) is an incredibly valuable skill that’s virtually guaranteed to get you hired. This specialist course teaches you how to use SQL for relational database systems.

SQL is not a programming language, it's a query language. Anyone who can use English at a basic level can learn to write SQL. It is the standard query language for relational database management systems, and SQL statements are used to perform tasks such as updating and retrieving data.

In this hands-on programme, you’ll not only learn to communicate with databases but also with each other as you collaborate on team projects that help you become familiar with SQL Server.

You’ll also learn backup/restore strategies and security control. From practical exercises, you’ll get familiar with developing database solutions with SQL.

On successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a New Zealand Certificate in Information Technology (Level 5).
