This programme is for newly appointed team leaders, or for those who have the potential to lead teams in the future. It is designed for those who are currently employed or have access to an organisation. Graduates will have the skills to effectively lead a team.

What is the time commitment?

  • The programme is delivered over 12 months
  • NZQA guidelines suggest up to 480 hours of total study time for a 48 credit programme, this is the equivalent of 10 hours study per week.
  • There are four full day face-to-face sessions to attend (1 session approx. every 2 months)
  • The remaining hours of learning are completed online, in a student's own time over 12 months.

Entry criteria

  • Minimum of three years secondary education; or
  • A relevant qualification at NZQF Level 2; or
  • Equivalent.

English language requirements

Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 5 in the academic band, with no individual band score lower than 5; or

  • TOEFL Internet-based test (iBT) score of 35 (with a writing score of 14)
  • TOEFL Paper-based Test (pBT) score of 500 (with an essay score of 4 TWE)
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) score of 36 with no band score lower than 36
