Summary

Lincoln University's Bachelor of Tourism Management with Honours is a one-year qualification for students who have completed a relevant undergraduate degree. Tourism is one of New Zealand's and the world's most rapidly growing industries and there is an increasing demand for university graduates who have a specialised understanding of the requirements of this diverse and exciting sector.
Lincoln University provides an internationally established programme of study, which equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to take on a multitude of managerial, planning, business leadership, advisory or research roles within the industry.

Summary of Regulations

All of the following:
• 80 credits (4 courses) at the 600 level
• A 40 credit dissertation.

SOCI 601 Social Science Research Methods (Quantitative)
SOCI 602 Social Science Research Methods (Qualitative)

Students can start in:
• Semester One (late February) or
• Semester Two (mid July).
There are also options for starting in summer semesters.

Entry criteria

An approved undergraduate degree and have achieved a B+ or higher in 300 level courses.

If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate that your English is good enough to study successfully at university. Lincoln University recognises achievement through a limited number of recognised tests of English Language. Below are the minimum standards for entry to the programme:

  • IELTS academic score of 6.0 overall, with no individual component less than 5.5
  • TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 60 (with at least 18 in writing)
  • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and First (FCE) overall score of 169, with no individual component less than 162
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) overall score of 50 with no communicative skills score less than 42
  • Lincoln University English Language LU EL 65%.
