This programme covers advanced business administration and computing skills for clerical, administrative or secretarial roles. Throughout the semester students will have the opportunity to put their learning into practice through work experience in a local business.
What you'll learn
Real work place environment
Students will learn in Wintec’s Centre for Business and Enterprise in a simulated office setting. They will use the latest version of Microsoft Office, be introduced to a range of useful and relevant web based tools and applications, and learn from highly qualified, industry experienced tutors.?
As part of their study students will undertake work placement in an organisation.
The Business 4 programme will lead to a variety of office-related jobs such as receptionist, office junior, administrator, records officer or data processor.
Candidates can gain entry to this programme by meeting one of the following criteria:
Based on your school achievement (secondary school study)
40 credits at NCEA Level 1; including 10 Literacy credits and 10 Numeracy credits;
Or a recognised equivalent
Based on study completed after school (tertiary study)
Completed the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) Level 3;
Or a recognised equivalent qualification
English language requirements
Candidates who have English as a second language are required to have an International English Language Test System (IELTS) score of 5.5, with no individual band score lower than 5; or
