This degree is designed for those with a drive to succeed in business, with a practical focus, and a flexible structure. Students can choose from a range of majors and elective modules, and will gain a broad range of business skills, as well as specialist skills and work experience in their chosen major. Students will have the opportunity to undertake collaborative real-world projects with students from other disciplines, and with industry.
The practical focus of this degree increases the chances of employment when students graduate, and the small class sizes help to build strong one-on-one learning relationships with tutors. The flexible structure allows students to choose from a range of majors and a wide variety of elective modules.
Major in Innovation and Entrepreneurship
In this major students will learn how to innovate and create game-changing products and services, build a great team, incorporate customers' feedback in developing a service or product, learn from failures and turn them into opportunities, raise funds needed for growth, and know how to choose an appropriate and timely exit strategy.
What you'll study
In their first year, students will complete the eight core modules required for the Applied Management degree. These will give students the important broad skills needed to excel in any area of business. In the second year student will take three modules for the innovation and Entrepreneurship major, choose three other modules which can be towards a second major, as well as two more core modules - Applied Management and Research Methodology. In the third year students will study two more innovation and entrepreneurship modules and two other modules towards a second major. Students will also apply their skill on work placement with a local business.
