This degree is designed for those with a drive to succeed in business, with a practical focus, and a flexible structure. Students can choose from a range of majors and elective modules, and will gain a broad range of business skills, as well as specialist skills and work experience in their chosen major. Students will have the opportunity to undertake collaborative real-world projects with students from other disciplines, and with industry.
The practical focus of this degree increases the chances of employment when students graduate, and the small class sizes help to build strong one-on-one learning relationships with tutors. The flexible structure allows students to choose from a range of majors and a wide variety of elective modules.
Major in Human Resource Management
In this course, students will gain the essential skills needed to get the most from a team of workers. Students will learn about staff management, recruitment, employee performance, up-skilling and development, and resolving conflict in the workplace.
What you'll study
In their first year, students will complete the eight core modules required for the Applied Management degree. These modules will give students the important broad skills needed to excel in any area of business. For their second year students will take three modules for the Human Resources Management major, choose three other modules which can be toward a second major, as well as two more core modules – Applied Management and Research Methodology. In the third year students will study two more Human Resources Management modules and two other courses towards a second major. Students will also apply their skill on work placement with a local business.
