The Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Chinese Medicine) is a dynamic programme designed for TCM practitioners wishing to strengthen their knowledge and better integrate into the healthcare system.
It will facilitate in-depth examination and skill development in relation to research philosophy, and methodology. The main focus will be on approaches appropriate to research into Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) including use of literature, qualitative, quantitative, multi/mixed methods, ethical issues and approval, and specific knowledge and practical skills for the critique, design and conduct of research.
The programme also considers issues surrounding the evolution of CAM nationally and internationally and how this contributes to the development of a wider perspective on practice within Chinese Medicine and development of the profession.

PATHWAY TO FURTHER EDUCATION
This 60 credit qualification at level 8 offers advanced understanding of research methods appropriate to the evaluation of Chinese Medicine, as well as excellent skills in finding and appraising research literature and relating it to their practice.
It also provides the pathway to pursue further studies into masters’ degree programme offered by our School.
Graduates of the Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Chinese Medicine) will
be equipped with knowledge and skills to enable them to function at an advanced level within practice.
