Foundation Certificate in English for Academic Purposes (FCertEAP) is ideal if you have met the academic requirements for the University of Auckland or some other New Zealand tertiary institutions, but have not reached the English language requirements.
This programme ensures you gain the English proficiency and academic literacy needed for undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. Successfully completing the FCertEAP programme with the required grade for your academic study programme will meet the English language requirements for entry to a number of New Zealand tertiary institutions.
21 weeks, including one week study break (17-week courses commence in September and November)

To be eligible for FCertEAP, you must hold a conditional offer of place from a New Zealand tertiary institution that recognises FCertEAP.

You can meet the English language entry requirements for FCertEAP through one of the following test results:
Postgraduates minimum CEFR level B2
Undergraduates minimum CEFR level B1+ or
Undergraduate IELTS: Overall 5.0; Writing 5.0; Other bands 4.5
PTE-A Overall 36; Writing 36; Other bands 29;
TOEFL iBT Overall 60; Writing 18; Other bands 12;
Postgraduate IELTS: Overall 5.5; Writing 5.5; Other bands 5.0;
PTE-A Overall 42; Writing 42; Other bands 36;
TOEFL iBT Overall 70; Writing 21; Other bands 14.
