The objective of this programme is to develop advanced professional-level health sector managers to effectively initiate and manage high quality health programmes, projects and organisations. Students in this programme will enjoy interactive practice-based sessions, visits to health facilities, talks and discussions with experienced health managers and employers, tutorials, valuable assessment tasks and one-to-one coaching to achieve programme graduate profile.
Health Project Manager, Health Programme Leader, Community Health Centre Manager, Community Health Manager, Mental Health Sector Manager, Health and Safety Manager, Marae, Pasifika or Ethnic Group Health Manager, Aged Care Centre Manager, Elder Recreation Centre, Marae Health Facility, Care Facility Manager, Clinic Manager, Practice Manager, Health Centre Manager, Multi-disciplinary Health or Therapy Centre Team Leader or Manager Ongoing Employment Opportunities- post experience or further education: Health Project, Health Programme, Community Health Centre, Community Health, Practice, Mental Health Sector, Health and Safety, Marae, Pasifika or Ethnic Group Health, Ministry of Health, Not for Profit Health Education, Retirement-Elder Care Facility, Health Studies in an educational setting, Health Promotion Programme Director or Leadership roles, Board Trustee or Chair.
Further degree or postgraduate level health, business, management, leadership, governance, public health, evaluation or research studies, they include for example: Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health, Postgraduate Diploma in Health Science, Postgraduate Diploma in Evaluation, Postgraduate Diploma in Social Science Evaluation Research, Certificate in Governance, Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Health) and Postgraduate Diploma in Health Management.
Learners must be at least 20 years of age in the year of study and hold as a minimum a Level 5 Diploma in Health and 3 years' related work experience, or Level 6 Diploma in Health and two years' related work experience; or degree and one year of experience in health related work; or the applicant can demonstrate equivalent level 6 academic plus practical, professional or technical knowledge and skills.
