The CELTA is the most widely recognized international English language teaching qualification in the world. It is administered by the University of Cambridge and is delivered world-wide. It is recognized as a pre-service qualification for teachers of English in New Zealand and overseas. It is aimed at those who have no previous English teaching experience but those with experience may also benefit. Course Content: Unit 1 Learners and teachers and the learning teaching context, Unit 2 Language analysis and awareness, Unit 3 Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing, Unit 4 Planning and resources for different teaching contexts, Unit 5 Developing teaching skills and professionalism. Enrolment procedure: To be selected you must - Meet the minimum age requirement - 18 years of age; Be eligible for tertiary education; Have an awareness of language and a level of competence, both written and spoken, to participate fully and complete the course assignments; Meet the minimum requirements of the pre-interview task and interview.
