WHAT IS IT LIKE?
The Graduate Diploma in Business is useful if you wish to keep up with professional developments in your field and are short of time. Or you may have found yourself working in a different field of business to that in which you hold a qualification.
The Graduate Diploma in Business Studies enables you to study another subject without completing a second bachelor’s degree. The graduate diploma is a bridging tool to gain the equivalent of an undergraduate major in a specific area so you can go on to postgraduate study.
This is an undergraduate diploma, designed for those who do not have a degree in the subject you wish to pursue.
The accounting endorsement provides students with a focused programme of study. Successful completion demonstrates an undergraduate level of competency within your chosen area of accounting studies.

The Massey Business School is one of the country’s leading and largest business schools and is AACSB accredited.
Massey University’s School of Accountancy has accreditation from national and international professional institutions including the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK). It was also awarded the AACSB accreditation for the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programmes. The School is one of only two institutions in New Zealand and Australia awarded this prestigious accreditation. Only around 12 other institutions outside the USA have achieved this distinction.
It is a flexible qualification, with no core or compulsory subjects. You can tailor your study to your interests or needs.
For those already working in the field, the diploma will give you additional skills and bring you up-to-date on theory and practice. It may also be useful if you have found yourself in a role outside of your key area of specialty and wish to upskill.
People with accounting skills and qualifications are employable in a wide range of occupations, not necessarily solely as accountants. Their education enables them to take leadership roles within most organisations.
Students taking the Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) are required to complete a total of 120 credits, 90 credits from 110 prefix courses at 200-level or above with at least 60 of these credits at the 300-level; and 30 credits, of which at least 15 must be at the 300-level, from the Schedule to the Graduate Diploma in Business Studies, or from courses with Massey Business School prefixes of 110, 114, 115, 125, 127, 137, 152, 153, 155, 156, 178, 219 or 290.
Candidates must meet all prerequisites except for 110.230, which may be included without a prerequisite. Meeting these prerequisites may require you to study courses that are additional to those specified in the Graduate Diploma.
Admission to the Graduate Diploma in Business Studies requires that a candidate will:
