Course details

This qualification will prepare you for the rapidly changing programming industry. The course focuses purely on software engineering, beginning with traditional techniques and swiftly moving to the latest industry standards. The course is divided into three major sections – programming, analysis and design and culminates with a final project. The project is the opportunity for students to showcase the skills they have acquired on the course. Starting with the client’s initial instructions students will do the software design for a complete project, in an industry standard manner.

The course only requires 2-days a week in class with the additional option of one-on-one tutorial available when needed; this allows you to do self-directed study and part-time work.

When you do our 2-year full-time software course, you will get more practical time learning and writing code than most 3-year degrees. This means no peripheral papers or unrelated subjects, as required in most university degrees.

The first year of the diploma focuses on Web Development, teaching you the languages used behind most websites today and taking them from determining client needs to choosing CMS, utilising databases, designing the user experience and configuring a website.

The second year develops your programming skills and leads to creating immersive websites in ASP.NET Core 2, using cutting-edge technologies. Along the way, we will cover database integration, write clean code in C#, and use Object Orientated Programming principles. All skills you need for any career in Software Engineering. We also create mobile apps in Xamarin, which can run on Android and IOS cellphones.

Some of our graduates have moved into software development roles across a wide range of industries, such as education and e-learning, shipping and freight, healthcare, business and data management and artificial intelligence.
