Summary

The purpose of the NZDB Level 6 programme is to provide Aotearoa New Zealand with people who have general and specialised business knowledge and skills that can be applied in a range of strategic roles.

The overall aim of this programme is to equip learners with core business skills, attitudes and values that form the crux of leadership and management functions in dynamic and constantly changing business environments. It provides opportunities for learners to interact in real or realistic business environments and emerge as graduates in a complex and ever-changing business world. The programme thus aims to provide New Zealand business entities with graduates who are, or can be employed in a range of strategic roles within New Zealand business entities.

Graduate Outcomes

Graduate will benefit New Zealand business entities by contributing to the achievement of entities’ strategic objectives, through the application of knowledge and skills, in an ethical manner, in a bi- and multi-cultural environment.

Who Should Enrol

Who are interested in:

  • applying for a two-year open work visa to build work experience; or
  • transferring up to 120 credits to a university business degree; or
  • transferring up to 180 credits to a university business degree; or
  • gaining a level 6 managerial business qualification

Graduate Options - What You May Get

Option 1:

EMS is outside of Auckland. Our NZDB graduates are eligible to apply for a two-year open work visa which provides you a valuable opportunity to build work experience in New Zealand).

Option 2:

May transfer up to 120 credits to a commerce/business degree in a university via our Degree Pathway agreements with average B grade. 120-credit is generally equivalent to the first year of a degree in a NZ university. It may take two more years to complete your degree. (A degree may take three years in NZ).

Option 3:

May transfer up to 180 credits to a business/management degree in a polytechnic via our Degree Pathway agreements. 180-credit is generally equivalent to the first 1.5 years of a degree in a NZ polytechnic. It may take 1.5 more years to complete your degree. (A degree may take three years in NZ).

Entry criteria

Applicants must have completed NZQF Level 5 graduate or equivalent

Applicants for whom English is not a first language must either have:

Met the English language proficiency outcomes defined below:

  • IELTS 6.0 with no band score lower than 5.5, or any equivalent; or
  • Have completed two years study at a NZ secondary school and achieved either NCEA Level 3 or University Entrance or both.

NZ Certificate in English language NZCEL L4-Academic qualification
