DUKE Institute of Studies runs college pathways in conjunction with top North Shore schools. English language is central to the New Zealand secondary school curriculum. That means, to be successful in the New Zealand school system, you need a reasonable level of English so you don’t fall behind in your learning. As a well regarded English language school on the North Shore, DUKE Institute of Studies works closely with selected local schools to offer a flexible high school pathway to prepare you for the New Zealand classroom. Our are within close proximity to our partner schools: Birkenhead College, Carmel College, Rosmini College, Northcote College, Takapuna Grammar, Glenfield College, Westlake Boys High School, Westlake Girls High School. The lessons in our high school pathways will help you raise your English to a level necessary for successful classroom learning and will assist you to adapt to the expectations and culture of high school in New Zealand. To achieve this, our teaching emphases: group work, learning through enquiry, communicating knowledge and ideas effectively, listening and reading critically, creative thinking. Each student receives a progress report every five weeks so you can plot your progress. At the end of the course, you will be presented with a certificate of achievement, and a final report will be sent to your school. Flexible learning options: High school pathways cover beginner to intermediate levels and are designed for students aged 12 to 17 years old. You can choose to study from anywhere between two weeks to nine months, and you can start anytime throughout the year, with classes beginning each Monday.
