UTP: Commerce is equivalent to the first year of your undergraduate Bachelor of Commerce studies. Upon completion of the programme, you will be eligible to progress to the second year of the Bachelor of Commerce degree and you will be able to choose from a variety of specialisations.
The University of Canterbury and its business partners provide many opportunities for you to gain practical business experience and make important contacts. Internships, business case competitions, career fairs and student groups all allow you to put classroom theories to the test in the real world and network with industry professionals.

A Commerce degree can be applied to almost any career, including the financial sector, industry and trade, international commerce, the not-for-profit sector, government, health care and technology. A Commerce degree provides an all-round knowledge base for management careers or starting your own business.
Entry into the UTP generally requires the successful completion of Year 12 of secondary school or its equivalent (this is equivalent to Year 13 in the New Zealand education system).
NCEA Level 3 or equivalent qualification: A minimum of 10 credits in each of 3 University Entrance approved subjects
