Nelson, with its busy port and thriving boat culture, is a great place to gain the skills in seamanship and hospitality you need to work in the global superyacht industry.
Delivering maritime training since 1976 NMIT offers expert tutors who are experienced Superyacht Captains, Engineers, Chief Stewardess’ and Chefs who can connect you with their extensive network of contacts within the superyacht industry.
During this twelve-week programme you will gain not only an introduction to all aspects of on-board life but also a wide range of skills, these will prepare you for anything that life as a superyacht crew member can throw at you.
As part of this programme you will have the use of world class learning facilities including local charter yachts, powerboats, simulators, luxury accommodation and an on-campus restaurant and bar, the Rata Room to gain professional training.

Students are required to complete international qualifications equivalent to New Zealand NCEA Level 1.
English language requirements
All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level.
Those students, whose first language is not English, are required to demonstrate:
Students must be at least 18 years of age at the time of attending the PSI311 Professional Superyacht Interior Training course.
