Summary

The NZ Diploma in Web Development and Design (Level 5) teaches students how to develop great websites in just one year. This programme is designed for those wishing to start their own web design business, wanting to work within an established organisation or up-skill their own level of understanding of web design. The programme takes you from determining client needs to choosing a CMS, utilising databases, designing the user experience and configuring a website.

The year focuses on coding skill - the languages used behind most websites today, PHP, SQL and JavaScript, developed within a responsive framework, which can render to all devices. The final project will require you to design a fully functional website that integrates a database for collecting and outputting information with front-end and back-end capabilities. This includes a user to login and logout with different access rights, per user, and have all forms validated for errors.

If you are wanting flexible study, this programme only requires 2-days a week in class, with the additional option of one-on-one tutorials available when needed. This allows you to do self-directed study and part-time work. Small class sizes allow our tutors to be hands-on with their students learning.

From here, graduates can move onto the final year of our NZ Diploma in Software (Level 6), or exit with a NZ Diploma in Web Development and Design (Level 5). No University Entrance is required to enter this programme.
