Summary
The Diploma in Creativity (Level 6) programme encourages students to be self-driven. Work will reveal the emergence of a personal style and a strong level of technical skill.
This qualification is for people seeking the skills and knowledge to effectively apply creative processes across a range of vocations and disciplines. Graduates will be able to apply creative thinking and creative making skills independently, in a new role or their current role, across a broad range of vocations and disciplines.
EMPLOYMENT PATHWAYS
Graduates of this qualification may wish to undertake further tertiary study at diploma or degree-level in the field of creative arts, or the field of business if pursuing self-employment. Industries and other communities in Aotearoa New Zealand will benefit from having people with the skills to apply and communicate the purpose of their creative practice to vocational fields.
Expected hours: 34 hours/week (Full time = 17 hours tutor/mentor directed study, 17 hours independent study), 17 hours/week (Part time = 8.5 hours tutor/mentor directed study, 8.5 hours independent study)
Delivery: On-site, Distance Delivery (study from home), or Blended Learning(study on-site and from home).
Start Dates: Onsite students may start either at the beginning of Term 1 in February, or at the beginning of term 2, 3 or 4, Distance Delivery or Blended learning students may start on the 1st, 4th or 7th Monday during term time and at other times upon request.
All students will need to work for nine weeks, and can then take a three-week break. Students must advise their mentor or Programme support of their decision for planning purposes.
Students whose enrolment crosses from one calendar year to the next will be required to resume independent study early in January. The date for resuming study will be provided at the time of enrolment.

New Zealand Certificate in Creativity (Level 5)
New Zealand Diploma in Arts & Design (Level 5)
New Zealand Diploma in Fashion (Level 5)
New Zealand Diploma in Digital Media & Design (Level 5)
New Zealand Diploma in Nga Toi (Level 5)
Students who have not completed at the previous programme level can apply for entry using TLC’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process. (Note: acceptance via the RPL process is not automatic. Evidence presented must demonstrate sufficient ability at the required level).
