Summary

Looking for a rewarding career as an Early Childhood teacher? We offer the very best way to get there! Study your first year full-time on campus with our amazing caring tutors. University Entrance is not required to enter this programme. We have small class sizes to ensure good levels of personal tuition and care.

Classes are fun and interactive, and we include over 200 hours of placement in Early Childhood centres for you to learn hands-on, and create connections for possible future employment.

Topics you will cover over the year include: Curriculum, Learning Development and Culture, Professional Practice and Pedagogy, Research and Inquiry, Self in Society, and Tangata Whenua.

Following your year with us, you can then apply for entry into year two of The Open Polytechnic degree with supported learning from Vision College. As this degree is mostly online based, you can work in an Early Childhood centre while you complete your studies.

The best part of this path to your degree is that you learn while you earn. After the first year, you can be earning in a paid job, which means little to no student debt. You will also be able to write your assignments based on real application in an early childhood centre.

This diploma acts as the first year of the Bachelor of Teaching Degree, which students can continue on to through the Open Polytechnic.
