At Papatoetoe High School (PHS) we believe in our strong performing co- curricular course offerings. The performing arts: drama, dance, music competitions, bands, choir; sports, technology-fashion, cooking, environmental group and Kapa haka.

Our other unique features include:

ESOL classes tailored to second language speakers of English in classes as small as three students. Our in house English tutor, supports the Internationals students offering individual tuition in a variety of subjects and our comprehensive, personalised support provided to international students.

PHS is state secondary school founded in 1957, with an excellent reputation for providing a high quality education to around 1620 students from over 50 different nationalities. With over 11 hectares of grounds, including mature trees and superb playing fields, the campus provides an ideal environment for students to learn in.

PHS has excellent modern facilities, including technology block, science block, gymnasiums, ESOL classrooms, music, art, and computer facilities. 

Accommodation is arranged by a homestay coordinator who finds suitable New Zealand homestay families.
