Why I Chose to Study at Lincoln University

Why I Chose to Study at Lincoln University

The top 3 things that I love about my university are: the buildings, the people, and the student’s association (LUSA).

First, the buildings in Lincoln University are so artistic – ancient with a natural heritage! Everyone who comes to Lincoln University takes photos in front of the library foyer.

Next, the people. Apparently, Lincoln is not a huge University so most people know each other, especially if you live in the student hall. And not only are the students really friendly, the staff and lecturers are as well!

Last but not least, Lincoln University Students’ association (LUSA). LUSA hold heaps of events but the main reason why I love them so much is because they always provide free food just when I need it most.

Pathway programme

One of the key reasons why I chose to study at Lincoln University was because of its accreditation. But most of all, unlike other universities where I needed to do foundation or English studies for a year before doing my degree, Lincoln University has a pathway programme so I didn’t need to wait as long before I could start to study for my degree. In fact, in my case, the pathway programme was only 4 months in length, and I started my degree straight away after that!

Life at Lincoln University

Studying at Lincoln University has given me lots of experiences that otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to get if I had studied in my home country, Indonesia. Don’t get me wrong, Indonesia has a lot of great universities as well, but studying at Lincoln University in New Zealand is a whole new thing.

If I wasn't studying here, I wouldn’t have met so many great people (and I really am grateful I met them). I wouldn’t have been able to experience different cultures and make friends from all over the world.

There are so many things that make me grateful that I chose Lincoln University as my university.

Sephani Devina, from Indonesia, is studying for a Bachelor of Agribusiness and Food Marketing at Lincoln University. What she loves about studying in New Zealand "is that the people are so friendly, even the lecturers and staff. Plus, New Zealand has lots of hills and mountains so you will never run out of mountains to climb if you like tramping!"
