Southland Girls' High School is a high performing academic school. Established in 1879, it has a proud history. It is the only state girls' year 7-13 school in New Zealand. Learning is tailored to each student and a high standard of achievement and personal conduct is expected. We offer a wide range of subjects and over 70 activities outside the classroom, and free Wi-Fi. Situated next to an International swimming pool and within reach of the cycling velodrome, the city of Invercargill is in close proximity to National Parks, beaches and mountain ranges. The school is 10 minutes from the town centre and airport. We offer caring homestays and hostel accommodation and a dedicated Director of International students to support our international girls.
