Opihi College

Secondary (Years 9-13, approx age 13-17)

A co-educational school with small classes where the individual attention is given to the students at senior and junior level. We have approximately 20 international students at different levels within the school. These students come from Thailand, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan, China and Japan. The school has excellent,moder n facilities. It has up-to-date well equipped laboratories and classroomsas well as a gymnasium, two computer suits, library, drama theatre, international student suit, tennis courts, cricket, soccer and rugby grounds. Students are met at the christchurch international airport only an hour and half away drive from Temuka. A comprehensive, New Zealand Qualification Authority approved 10 week intensive English programme is avaialble prior to beginning the high school courses. The school has an excellent English language programme for international students. Students study in small groups of up to six students for internationally recognised ESL qualification eg. NCEA, TOEFLand IELTS. Students can also study towards New Zealand English qualifications. We consistently produce excellent results in theseexaminatios for our students. English language support is provided as part of the tuition fees.

Christchurch is a beautiful city where you can cycle alongside the river, stay in good hotels and indulge in fine sophisticated dining, and a city where, just 15 minutes from the centre, you can scramble up mountain bike tracks or ride a wave at a surf beach.
