Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design, established in 1982 and located in Auckland, New Zealand is an award-winning specialist in tertiary arts and design education. Internationally-recognised programmes at Certificate, Degree, Postgraduate Diploma and Masters levels are offered in FINE ARTS, PHOTO MEDIA, FASHION DESIGN, GRAPHIC DESIGN, ARTS MANAGEMENT and ARTS THERAPY. Whitecliffe is a government-approved and government-funded institution with a student roll of around 480. International students, who come from a variety of countries, number around 60 - 65 of the total roll.
Programmes are taught by practising artists, designers, educators and researchers. Students develop creative and critical thinking, research, communication and presentation skills, and are exposed to the contemporary arts and design world through exhibitions, internships, international guests and industry professionals.
The Certificate in Digital Media and Design and the Certificate in Arts and Design are 18 week programmes which allow students to build a professional portfolio that can be used to support future degree level study in New Zealand or anywhere in the world and at the same time they can experience being in New Zealand.
Fine Arts, Photo Media, Fashion Design and Graphic Design are taught within the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree which includes courses Business Studies, Management Studies, PR and Marketing to ensure students have a smooth transition from study to work.
Independence, creativity and risk-taking are strongly encouraged within Whitecliffe programmes from certificate to postgraduate level. Whitecliffe has won the Eden Arts Art Trust Award as the top art school in Auckland in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. Students, Graduates and Faculty have won numerous awards including Australasian Graduate of The Year, Id Emerging Designer, Best Awards.
Whitecliffe graduates are articulate, creative thinkers with broad skills and a high level of industry standard technical proficiency. They create powerful and compelling visual expressions of their ideas, are leaders in the creative industries, and shape contemporary culture.

Whitecliffe students are provided with their own studio spaces from Year 2 onwards.
Major Exhibitions are held mid-year and end-of-year, including the Graduate Exhibition and the annual Fashion Show.
Whitecliffe has pathway agreements with a number of quality English language providers which means that IELT certification is not always required
